MANIPHESTO

The CryptoPhunks manifesto represented a pivotal moment in NFT history—a declaration of decentralization, censorship resistance, and community-led art created in response to early marketplace delistings. Realizing that this crucial piece of Web3 ethos existed merely as a transient Medium article, MANIPHESTO was created to permanently immortalize the community’s philosophy on the blockchain while directly involving the community in the creative output.

The core visual relies on concrete typography, setting the complete text of the manifesto into the pixel-art silhouette of a CryptoPhunk. Rather than automated generation, the project involved an intensive, hands-on production process: after collectors minted, they reached out directly, and their specific Phunk (or collection of Phunks) was manually redesigned and transformed into the MANIPHESTO visual poetry format. Hundreds of unique, personalized pieces were hand-crafted for holders through this direct interaction.

Minted as a 10,000-piece collection on Foundation, the project captured an irreplaceable era of Web3 cultural history—a legacy cemented following the platform's recent sunset. Beyond the digital provenance, the concept was adapted into physical streetwear apparel, extending an on-chain statement into tangible merchandise.
